Our Only Way… Our Only Hope

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death”-Proverbs 14:12
Yesterday was my second to the last on campus at Charis Bible College and it was my last IAG’s (Interactive groups where we are to perform short discussions that can be a short sermon, testimony, or pastoral occasions such as funerals, weddings. etc.). In the last two hours my group of 13 students had to quickly answer in this IAG random situations that a person may come up to us and ask either an easy or hard question. an example can be such as “Pirates stop your ship and one of them before “executing” you says Your God is not here to save you now!” How would you share the Gospel for your last few words?
As I selected my random question (not quite as challenging as a martyr situation), but they were hard questions to ponder on to answer for two unbelievers (in this scenario). The first hour question was based on there was an atheist that came with a challenge. But in the second hour question I wish I had more time to answer instead of the short two minutes. The scenario was basically on there was a universalist that came to me and challenge me by asking “Why are you Christians not accepting of others… Why do you Christians say that there is only one way to God?” After my quick answer for this fantasy scenario was over, my mind kept on thinking of how I would answer that question with more time.
Jesus is our only way to our Father. As for us we know by scriptures that Jesus states in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” He is the Only way we can reach God. He is the Only Truth that is the complete and absolute truth. And he is the Only one that can bring eternal life to us to live with a true relationship with God that last forever! There are so many different worldviews, moral ethics, and religions in this world. But if what Jesus said he is the absolute truth, then we must not deny this fact that Jesus is the Absolute Truth. All other religions that were also taught by “teachers” are now dead and are no more. Buddha taught his experience on earth that nothing really brings happiness, yet he is dead. Muhammad taught many people of what he could understand to obey Allah, yet he passed on and never claimed to be God but just a prophet. Confucius taught his personal ethics to others, but he is gone. Many other philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates what they viewed as moral values, virtues, and vices, but these ethics were only built in their human mindset. But Jesus is ALIVE at the right hand of God… because not only was He a great teacher but He is the Son of God that had risen from the dead. Only through Jesus stated many times of the “I am” statements that declares Him as the Lord of lords and King of kings. I am the LIGHT! I am the Bread! I am the door. I am the vine. I am the resurrection and life. I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD! Death where is your string. The resurrected King Jesus has defeated you! Our hope for eternal life comes from Christ. Through Him we have justification and righteousness. He is our only way and hope we have to access to God as He is the bridge that redeemed our separation from the Lord. Our hope is in Him and Him only for He is the Way.
