The Mark of the Yellow Sticky Note

“From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.” Mark 6:17

In the end of the summer and at the beginning of my 3rd year of Global Training School at Charis Bible College, I started working part time at UPS. I needed the extra money to pay for gas each week. You know how with the economy and gas prices rising up. Every day would be a hour of driving to Charis from Monument to Woodland Park and another hour back. But I was determined and willing to go to the Charis everyday for the next step that God has for me. One of my neighbors had offered support of me to apply with UPS. Just one week before Global Training school started, the UPS had just opened a new warehouse in Monument and I went for orientation the first day in the evening it was opened. I was tested in different positions in the warehouse from the small package sorting to the reload of the 18-wheelers to shipment of the boxes to the Denver airport, but my favorite position was the unloading the UPS vans of boxes to the conveyor belt. My boss started to like my work ethics and he ask me if I could work not only five days of week but if I could work also for two-three hours on Saturday, and of course I said yes.

Unlike the weekday of unloading every van till its empty, Saturdays there were only a bit more than a half of the vans of my usual unloading. Weekdays, I would unload anywhere from eighteen-twenty-one trucks, but on the Saturday shift, I would only unload ten to twelve trucks. Yet on weekends there was till be the same amount of trucks as weekdays, my supervisor had a new way to tell me which trucks to empty and which trucks not to unload till the next Monday. My supervisor would put a “yellow sticky note” at the back door to tell me to unload that truck. When I was walking and saw a truck with the yellow sticky note, I went and unloaded that truck completely empty. If I saw that yellow sticky note told me it was a “mark” to unload of the boxes.

You know we also as true followers of Christ have a mark in our bodies. I am not speaking of the one mark of the unbelievers who follows the Antichrist with the number 666, yes that is one that many will have in the future. But the one I am speaking about is that also there is a “spiritual mark” given to each of us that truly follows Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. No one can have this mark unless they believe and accept Jesus. As written in Galatians 6:17 (ESV) says, “From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.” It is our mark for us to identify as children of the Father. It is our spiritual mark that we are the brides of the Lamb. It is the mark that we are redeemed and saved by the cross. It will protect us in the rapture as we are taken away from this earth to be in the presence of the Lord. As well, Jesus shared a parable of the harvesters or angels to separate from the weed to burn while to store in those who are marked as the wheat to their “barn” or heaven. “Let both grow together until the harvest, at the harvesttime I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into the barn. The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear” (Matthew 13:30, 38-39, 41-43).  As another sign of similar example can be in on the Passover during the time of the slavery of the Israelites to the Egyptians, The last plague was for the angel of death that went through Egypt to kill the first- born babies and children, but he spare the lives of the Israelites that “marked” their door with the blood of a lamb. We who are saved and believe in Christ will be written in the book of Life from the grace of God that says we can enter to eternal life in paradise with Him. We are marked in our spiritual bodies that says we are redeemed by the Lamb who was slain, and we will be redeemed with the Lion of Judah when He comes to take us away.
